Composition Assignment Blog PostThe purpose of this assignment was to learn about the fundamental elements of composition in photography. These elements help to create an image that has an impact on the viewer and is pleasing to the eye. Some elements are used to provoke certain emotions and others are used to create a certain effect on the eye. We took pictures around the school that utilized all eleven of the fundamental elements of composition that we learned about. These include balance, color, depth, framing, lines, patterns, perspective, space, symmetry, texture, and the rule of thirds. This was a really good opportunity to explore the basics of photography and try to capture the best images that we could. The fundamental elements are used to create specific effects on the viewer. These may include certain tricks of the eye or emotion. I feel like I know how to properly take a photo and I know how to achieve the desired effect I want in photography.
